EPUB is a "reflowable" format: the text reorganizes itself to fit the size of your screen. Ideal on e-readers (Kindle via conversion, Kobo, Vivlio), smartphones or tablets. You set the font, the size, the line spacing, the night mode. It's the best choice for long, comfortable reading.
PDF preserves the original layout exactly: columns, boxes, tables, footnotes. It's the format to favor on a large screen or for printing, and when the visual presentation (diagrams, sources set side by side) matters as much as the text.
DRM-free means your files belong to you: no blocking protection, readable anywhere, easy to back up, transferable across your devices.
